Backstory from Bjorn:

"This is an overdrive with a dynamic span allowing sparkling cleans transforming into soft saturation. A consequence of distortion is that overtones will invariably make the sound brighter. This function is highly desirable for guitarists.
The way Royal Gold does this is through a series of saturation points; making a smooth transition rather than a sharp overload. Combining this with filter tricks that follow the progression of distortion, this is specifically aligned with the dynamic performance of a standard electric guitar. This allows sparkling clean passages played lightly to be followed by smooth and singing passages played intensely and hard. This makes for a 'sound is in your hands' feeling.
Further excellence in treble cannot exist without carrying midrange"

Controls:

Volume - sets output level.

Drive - sets overall gain and saturation.

Bass - controls sensitivity for low notes, i.e. how easily low notes trigger overdrive.

Mids - controls sensitivity for the fundamental notes of the B and top E strings and overtones of the lower strings, i.e how easily high notes trigger overdrive.

Treble - controls overall brightness of sound.
