Seeker Electric Effects Custom Shop Ge Preamp
hand wired point to point w/NOS components by Michael Timpson of Seeker Electric Effects in California
Based on the 60’s Hofner Preamp, originally built to plug your guitar into a tube radio, the GePre adds beautiful Germanium harmonics and grit to your clean tone, or crank it up to push your amp into overdrive. An additional switch gives the circuit a fuzzy boost with more gain, clipping and harmonic sustain.
Point to point construction using single NOS tag strip.
NOS Philips AC107 Black Glass Germanium transistor
NOS Philips and GE capacitors
Carbon comp resistors.
Silver Vein 125B enclosure w/ Davies Fairchild knob.
True bypass w/ LED Indicator, power jack (center negative, isolated only!) or 9V battery operation.
